EXCLUSIVE: Salman Khan's 'Maatrubhumi' Gets Government Clearance, Revised Film Shows Positive India-China Ties

Bollywood Hungama brings an exclusive update on Salman Khan's highly anticipated film, 'Maatrubhumi', previously known as 'Battle Of Galwan'. After facing significant delays due to government reservations regarding its depiction of the 2020 India-China conflict, the film has now received a major breakthrough: government clearance for a theatrical release. This development comes after the makers submitted a revised version of the film, satisfying the concerned authorities.

Overcoming Hurdles: Ministry of Defence Concerns Addressed Initially, the Ministry of Defence had expressed reservations about the film's content and its direct mention of China, leading to the hold-up. However, a source close to Bollywood Hungama revealed, "The officials of the I&B Ministry are now satisfied with the new version of Maatrubhumi submitted by the makers. Hence, they gave an NOC to the war saga last week. This means that the film can now be made available for public consumption."

A New Narrative: Positive India-China Relations The most significant change in the revised version of 'Maatrubhumi' is its approach to the India-China relationship. The source confirmed, "The new version of Maatrubhumi is highly altered compared to the original version. Moreover, it now also talks about the relationship between India and China in a positive light." This positive portrayal was key to securing the government's approval.

Salman Khan Eyes Post-Diwali Release With the government's nod in hand, Salman Khan is now reportedly eyeing a strategic release date. "Salman Khan is now eyeing November 13. He believes that the post-Diwali period, when people would still be in a celebratory mood, would be apt for the film’s release," the source added. While the film has received an NOC, the censor process with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is still pending. If the CBFC clears the film swiftly this month, the November 13 release date looks promising, with a clearer picture expected in the coming days.

Key Cast and Crew

This marks a crucial step forward for 'Maatrubhumi', paving the way for its much-awaited debut on the big screen, presenting a fresh perspective on a sensitive subject.
